Our hearts are saddened by the loss of this man, Raymond Johnston, who was murdered in prison. His death increases the number of murdered registrants to more than 500. Some registrants, like Raymond, were killed in prison while others who were leading a more peaceful existence were hunted down like prey. It is time to stop these murders of innocent men! It is time to stop branding people who made a mistake in the past, but have paid their debt to society and been rehabilitated.
Truly a sad situation. On the other hand, there are evil individuals whose motive is to accuse someone of a RSO offense, these evil individuals know it will ruin someone’s reputation and can lead to incarceration, physical harm or death. Most if not all LE take accusations of an RSO offense very seriously regardless of any actual facts or evidence. When their case falls apart, any “prior” will be exploited regardless, and getting a “not guilty” verdict will be nearly impossible.
A RSO will always face prejudice in any court proceedings merely because of the RSO status, and many will exploit their RSO status, regardless of why they are on the registry, as we all know, no two cases can be exactly alike.
I know this for a fact, I have lived it…
